2009, 2ND ANNUAL WALK TO REMEMBER!!!!
It is with great pleasure that the Missing Alexis Foundation announces the 2nd annual Northern Kentucky Walk to Remember! To coincide with Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness month, the Walk will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2009 at the Boone County Arboretum at Central Park in Union, Kentucky. This is a 1.3 mile memorial walk for anyone whose life has been touched by the loss of a baby through miscarriage, molar or ectopic pregnancy, prematurity, stillbirth, S.I.D.S. or any other form of antenatal or neonatal death. The Walk is designed to honor and remember those babies taken from their families far too soon. The Walk is free to all participants, but donations are welcome and encouraged to the Good Samaritan Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

2:00 - Keynote speakers and Remembrance Roll Call Closing Ceremony/Balloon Release Shelterhouse Reception - Please join us for pizza and refreshments.
*A PRINTED PROGRAM WILL BE GIVEN TO EACH WALK PARTICIPANT. IN ORDER TO HAVE YOUR CHILD'S NAME INCLUDED IN THE PRINTED PROGRAM, PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED ON OR BEFORE FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER, 25th.
REGISTRATION INFORMATION:
In order to pre-register for the walk, please send the following information via email to contact@missingalexis.org.
1) Your name and the total number of walkers in your group. Walking teams are WELCOME!!!!
2) The full name of your deceased child(ren) and the year in which they were born. If the child was not named, please use "Baby (Family's last name), 1998."
3) A daytime and evening telephone number, and
4) Your current street address.
WALK T-SHIRTS: T-shirt pre-orders are no longer being accepted. Those who have pre-ordered t-shirts may stop by the t-shirt table on the day of the walk to obtain their orders. Surplus walk t-shirts will also be available on the day of the Walk on a first come, first serve basis. Sizes include, Youth Large, Adult Small, Medium, Large, XL, and XXL.

The first annual Northern Kentucky Walk to Remember to honor and remember babies lost during pregnancy and early infancy was a HUGE success!!! What a gorgeous day to remember and honor our babies! We hope that you found much comfort and support during the walk and small memorial service. We hope you realize how heartfelt and genuine the messages of support and encouragment are, and how very important the memory of your precious children are to our hearts.
Donations from the walk to the Good Samaritan Hospital's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit were well over $2,000.00!!! Believe me when I tell you, they were thrilled beyond measure to receive these funds towards their world-reknowned NICU! Also, over $500.00 was donated to the Missing Alexis Foundation at the walk, and afterwards, an anonymous donor contributed $1,000.00 to the Foundation! Be assured that the Missing Alexis Foundation will use these funds to insure that ALL bereaved families within our community are given the resources and support needed when suffering the devastating loss of a baby. We will also continue to create memory boxes to be given to local hospitals for the Aching for Angels Memorial Box Project, and we will continue to support funding for research into the causes of stillbirth and the promotion of healthy pregnancy practices. We genuinely appreciate your generosity and support. We hope to see you NEXT year at the 2nd Annual Northern Kentucky Walk to Remember!!!!
